If you’re in your 14 day cooling off period and want to cancel your loan, please contact us. You’ll need to repay the full borrowed balance in order for us to cancel your loan during this cooling off period. You will not be charged any interest and we will remove any hard searches on your credit file.
If you want to cancel your loan at any time during the loan term after the 14 day cooling off period, you can do so by repaying it in full but note you’ll need to repay the outstanding balance borrowed and any accrued interest.
To find out the total amount owed and repay your loan in full:
- Open the Kroo app and head to the ‘Account’ tab.
- Tap the ‘Manage your personal loan’ section.
The loan outstanding balance including accrued interest is stated at the top of the screen. Note the amount quoted is valid only for that day due to daily interest accruals.
To repay the loan in full:
- Tap ‘Make a payment’ and follow the on-screen instructions.
Alternatively, you can make an extra payment to your loan from an external bank account by using the loan payment account details and setting up as a payee. The loan account details are available in the Kroo app, on the ‘Make a payment’ screen.
Once the loan is fully repaid the loan account will be closed 5 working days later and we will report your Kroo loan as settled to the credit bureau shortly thereafter.
Your Kroo current account or other accounts with the bank, will remain active even after the loan is settled. You can continue using your existing current account and access your funds normally.
What happens after I repay my loan?
If you're looking to close your Kroo current account as well, be sure to settle any outstanding payments, cancel any direct debits, and arrange the transfer of any credit balance to another bank account. You can request to close your current account via in-app chat and we aim to complete the closure within 3 working days. Once closed, you can access your statements and support but cannot reopen the account.
