We’re sorry to hear that someone close to you has passed away. During this difficult period, we have a team of dedicated specialists who can support you in closing someone’s Kroo account down and transferring any remaining funds to the executor or a designated Next of Kin.
Before notifying Kroo, you may wish to:
- Register the death via the UK government website.
- Inform government agencies via the Tell Us Once service.
When notifying Kroo, depending on the account balance and other factors, the documents we need may differ.
Documents that we will need are:
- Death Certificate
- Personal ID documents for a Next of Kin (such as passport or driving licence)
- Documents confirming the relationship between our customer and the Next of Kin (the Death Certificate may do this)
Other documents may also be required, dependent on circumstances, such as:
- An executed Will from the deceased customer (if available). An executed will is one that has been signed and witnessed. It must be the latest will that you are aware of.
- Grant of Probate or Letter of Administration (if the remaining balance in the Kroo account is £5,000 or more).
Along with providing us with copies of these documents, we may need you to complete additional identity verification checks, or fill out some simple forms.
The quickest and easiest way to get started is to complete our Bereavement Form.
Please click HERE to access the form.
Once this form has been filled out to the best of your knowledge and submitted, one of our specialists will contact you with the next steps within 1-2 working days.
Alternatively, get in touch with us and our specialists will instruct you every step along the way and make this process as straightforward as possible for you.
You can reach out to us by email via help@kroo.com or call our customer service team on 08008021323 (or +441270448008 if you’re calling outside of the UK). Our team is available Monday to Sunday from 9am - 5:30pm.
We understand that this can be a lot to handle and you may be struggling to manage the responsibilities of handling someone's passing. If you need support outside of Kroo, here are helpful links that can help you during this time:
