What should I do if I was scammed into applying for or taking out a loan?

If you suspect you have been scammed into taking out a loan, or a loan has been taken out using your personal information that you were not aware of, you must take immediate action to report the fraud and secure your account.

If you already have a personal current account with Kroo Bank:

  • In-app chat (recommended): Log in to your mobile banking app, navigate to Support, and start an in-app chat with our support team.
  • Phone: Call our customer support team by calling 0800 802 1323 (or +44 1270 448 008 if you’re calling outside of the UK).
  • Email: Send an email with more details at help@kroo.com.

If you DO NOT have a personal current account with us:

  • Email: contact our team via email at help@kroo.com
  • Phone: Call our customer support team immediately by calling 0800 802 1323 (or +44 1270 448 008 if you’re calling outside of the UK).

To help us investigate your claim quickly, please have the following information and supporting documents ready when you contact us via in-app chat, phone, or email:

  • Loan reference number: Your Kroo loan ID or application number, if available.
  • Incident details: A description of how, when, and where the scam occurred.
  • Scammer communications: Screenshots, phone numbers, email addresses, receipts, or invoices linked to the fraudster.
  • Impact and compromised data: Details of any transferred funds, altered account settings, or compromised login credentials, if available.
  • Police reports: A crime reference number or official police report, if you have already filed one.
