How to apply for a loan?

If you're a Kroo Current Account holder

If you’re eligible to apply for a loan, we’ll send you an email and an in-app invitation. You’ll see an option to apply in the Kroo app.

The application process provides more detail about how Kroo loans work and asks a few questions necessary for us to complete credit and affordability checks. We also ask you to make an 'Open Banking' connection to view the transactions made to and from your primary account. This speeds up the application process, allows us to verify your income and helps protect against fraud.

Normally, you’ll receive a response within minutes, and if offered a loan, you’ll need to review the documentation to accept it. This will be sent via email.

If you do not have a Kroo Current Account

You can apply for a Kroo loan through price comparison websites e.g. ClearScore. If you're eligible for a loan with Kroo, you'll see a Kroo loan offer on their website which you can click through to Kroo's website to apply for a loan with us.

You'll need an ID document and access to your main Personal Current Account in order to complete the application in full. Normally, you'll receive a response within minutes of submitting your application, and if approved and accepted, your loan will be issued on the same day to your main Personal Current Account.
