What happens if I try to pay someone whose bank doesn’t offer Confirmation of Payee?

If you try to pay an individual or business who banks with a provider that doesn’t support Confirmation of Payee, it will not be possible for us to check the account details are correct. 

You may receive a message back from us stating the name was unable to be checked or asking for you to contact the recipient to check the details. This does not necessarily mean that the account details are incorrect.
