What happens if I try to pay someone whose bank doesn’t offer Confirmation of Payee?

If you try to pay an individual or business who banks with a provider that doesn’t support Confirmation of Payee, it won’t be possible for us to check if the account details are correct.

You may receive a message from us stating we were unable to check the name or asking you to contact the recipient to check the account details.

You should only proceed with the payment if you’re certain that the payee’s details are correct.
